Thanet Crematorium was opened, the latest and most modern in the country. Built from handmade multi-red Kent bricks at a cost of £75,000, it stands in 6.5 acres of ground off Manston-road, Margate, with much thought given to the landscaping, including 3,000 alpine plants.
