Post Office plans to speed post between the South-east and the North came to fruition as a Skyways FH-227 was loaded with 150 mailbags, containing 30,000 letters at Lydd Airport. The mailbags, collected from all over Kent, arrived in Liverpool an hour later ensuring timely first class deliveries, and avoiding delays in London.
