The decrease in Herne Bay’s population since May is about 3,000. The food executive officer Mr. A. Edwards states that nine retailers had closed their premises, eight institutions had ceased to operate and nearly thirty catering establishments had surrendered their certificates. There is, however, evidence of a return of a number of former residents.
