As a protest against the Isle of Thanet Tramway Co. running a motor bus at 2d fare from Cliftonville to Margate Railway Station, the taxi-cab drivers in Margate came out on strike. Although it only lasted an hour, it had its amusing feature. The thirty striking taxi-drivers boarded the bus, completely filled it, and each paid their fare to the railway station.
