Traffic was diverted and hundreds lined Herne Bay High Street to witness the official opening of the £2,500 new fire station. The ground floor consists of the engine house, boiler room and drill yard, with recreation and washing facilities on the first floor. The second floor houses the fully featured caretaker’s quarters.
