Ramsgate’s 21 year old Merryweather fire engine ‘Lord Winterstoke’ attended its last shout, at 3 Wellington Crescent for a fire under the staircase. A new, streamlined Leyland, the most up-to-date available, replaced it the next day, and inherited the name ‘Lord Winterstoke’.
