John Vanson (49) was killed by lightning as he stood watching a storm in the doorway of his Stodmarsh cottage with a Mr Tucker. Vanson was killed intantly, while Tucker is progressing from serious injuries. There are traces of the passage of the electric fluid through the roof and down the staircase.
