Prior to building repairs, a hive of bees was found in the roof of Stourmouth parish church. The hive had been known about for years, but the recently deceased vicar, Rev. Drake would never allow the sanctity of the bee’s retreat to be disturbed. Nearly 2 cwt. of honey was recovered, filling 2 large barrels.
