At 9am, Mr & Mrs Norman Stanley were the first to move into a luxury flat in “The Gateway” sea front development at Dover, having lived with parents for their first 8 weeks of marriage. Thirty seven other new tenants also moved in to the £1m development, started in August 1957 and completed ahead of schedule.
