Captain Drevar of Dover failed in his attempt to cross the channel in a home made boat measuring 6 feet long, by 18 inches broad. He used an umbrella as a sail. The eccentric Drevar had become obsessed with sea-serpents after supposedly seeing same in his seafaring travels.
