A chess match by post which it is thought may well last for two years has begun between Margate and its twin town of Yalta in Russia. The challenge eminated from Russia through a letter to the Mayor (Cllr. A. W. Adams) from the Chairman of Yalta Town Council, and has been accepted by three club members of Margate Chess Club.
