Southern Railway starts its Golden Arrow Pullman service from Victoria, with 10 British Pullman cars hauled by one of the Southern Railway’s Lord Nelson class locos. Simultaneously the ferry TSS Canterbury was introduced, allowing direct first class travel between London and Paris. Both ship and ferry were modified in 1931 to provide second class services.
