1978 Sheerness train passengers were left fuming because the 10.08 to Sittingbourne left bang on time. The incoming train (also on time) had arrived laden with passengers for the Olau-Line. Barrier staff dutifully clipped the incoming passenger tickets, leaving no time to board the 50 new passengers before sending the train out. Staff were subsequently strongly reprimanded.
