John Anderson, walking stick maker, living at Buckland, was brought before Magistrates for assaulting P.C. Corrie, who tried to induce him to go home, and not make a fool of himself going about the streets habited in a tight-fitting pink and blue glazed calico dress. He was fined 8s 6d., including costs.
