Those who registered were:—Ashford 193, Canterbury 274, Deal 99, Dover 300, Faversham 112, Hythe 55, Herne Bay 75, Maidstone area 1,503, Margate 105, Ramsgate 230, Whitstable 53. Most of them were married and a large number expressed preference for the R.A.F. There were 14 conscientious objectors in the Maidstone area, none at Folkestone. Hythe and Deal, one at Faversham.
