Former classics master at St Peter’s Court Scool Broadstairs reached 60,000 miles on his walking stick. He carves a notch every 100 miles on his walking stick, which he bought in 1946. Aged 81, he averages 7 miles a day, and walked a total of 2,908 miles the previous year, aged 80.
