Raymond Hill, licensee of the Three Compasses, Canterbury was delighted when his missing parrot Percy was found near Rolvenden. However, once safely home, it seems he had forgotten how to wolf-whistle, and forgotten the words to ‘Pop goes the Weasel’. Only by examining the markings on his beak with a magnifying glass, Mr Hill realised it was the wrong bird. He couldn’t offer his £50 reward, but offered to buy the new bird from Mr Brooks, the finder.
