Mr Edward G. Hilder, stationmaster at Sandling-junction, near Folkestone, was run over and killed by the corridor up train at Sandling at nine o’clock this morning. He was walking on the line in the direction in which the train was going, and apparently failed to hear the whistle that was repeatedly blown. He was struck on the back of the head by the engine lamp, which was broken.
