Vita Sackville-West (b.1892), English poet, novelist and gardener, died. She helped create her own gardens in Sissinghurst, Kent. She was famous for her exuberant aristocratic life, her strong marriage, and her passionate affairs with women like novelist Virginia Woolf. Her son Nigel gave her estate to the National Trust
