One of the first rock’n’roll clubs to be formed in Kent has made its debut in Dover at the Working Men’s club. Each Thursday, the Blue Note Rock Men of Ray Doble, a railway fireman, “give out”. Supporting the leader-pianist are George Hirst (drums), Pete Coe (trumpet-guitar), Kit Keene (guitar-vocals) and Peter Scopes (amplified guitar). Also appearing at the club is a skiffle group of Grammar School boys “The Rolling Stones”.
