Five new recruits to 1st Batt. The Buffs at Old Park Barracks, Dover have been the centre of attraction this week. The Battalion Lambs were born to the Battalion Sheep this weekend. A young soldier, the Duty Shepherd, was assigned to keep guard day and night. “At the first sign of trouble I have to call out the guard.” He said. “If the guard thinks fit he reports to the Officer-in-Charge of Sheep.” A recent intruder, a small, friendly terrier, was caught and locked in the guard room, until it was established that the sheep were actually chasing the dog.
