A detachment of the 19th Hussars, numbering 280 men, arrived in Canterbury by the South Eastern Railway, having that morning left Shorncliffe Camp. They were met at the Railway Station by the band of the Cavalry Depot, which played some lively airs, as the detachment marched down Pound Lane and Northgate Street, to the Barracks.
