Ashford Hospital closes its doors at 6pm for the first time since it opened in 1928 to give staff time to prepare to move to the £18m William Harvey Hospital. The move took place 2 days later with fleets of trucks and ambulances transferring 85 patients, 70 staff and a multitude of equipment.
