The front 4 cars of the 7pm Charing Cross to Dover train derailed as it crashed into a landslide at The Warren between Dover and Folkestone. Luckily driver Derek Castle was travelling at reduced speed due to spotting gushing water on a previous trip. Nobody was badly hurt, and Mr Castle shepherded the 120 passengers to safety in the rear cars, where they sang carols to keep spirits up while they waited for the emergency services.
