The Mayor of Gillingham has applied for the town to be reperesented at next year’s Coronation. The Mayor’s application is based on the fact that a portion of old Gillingham is still part of the Cinque Ports. There are two hostelries on the Lower Rainham Road, which are still licensed by the Hastings authority.
