Amid much cheer Chief Scout Lord Baden Powell was granted the Freedom of Canterbury at a ceremony at the Guildhall at 3pm. This was followed by a Rally of Kent Scouts and Guides with displays at the Victoria Recreation Ground at 4pm for the ever to be remembered Defender of Mafeking.
