Dover Town Council entered into a contract with the Dover Gas Company for the lighting of the public thoroughfares for the three years ensuing, commencing the 6th January next. The terms are that £4 per annum will be paid for each lamp for being lighted throughout the year. This is 8s. per lamp per year in excess of the expiring contract, and it will make a difference of about £600 a-year in the charges.
