Mr & Mrs Marden, of 17 Edgar-road Margate reported seeing a ghost gliding silently in fields between St. Nicholas and Monkton as they returned home at night. The figure was dressed in a dirty white monk’s robe with a hood and a girdle round the waist. Villagers have also reported sightings.
