After hitting his 13 year od daughter Jean across the face causing her nose to bleed and hitting her with a stick across her back leaving a 7″ weal because she hadn’t done the washing up, Gilbert Miller was summoned to Ramsgate Magistrate Court by the NSPCC. Magistrates dismissed the case, saying “A parent has the right to chastise his child.”
