Senior Scout officials are making inquiries in Margate about “Bob-a-jobbers” being employed as cheap labour. They are investigating complaints from six Cubs and their parents. The boys called at a place in the town as part of the Bob-a-job campaign and were given the task of moving bricks. The work took six hours and their reward was one shilling each. A total of 36 hours of work for six shillings — twopence an hour.
