A fire was discovered at 7am in the loft over the bakery of Mr. A. F. Blackburn, at the corner of Belmont-road and Park-road, Ramsgate. Firemen went quickly to their task, but the flour combined with the water from hoses formed a thick dough which hampered operations. The building was extensively damaged, and firemen had to wash their boots under a jet of water from a hydrant.
