The oldest Automobile Association box in England, which has stood at Newingreen since 1912, has been retired. It has been replaced by a new box nearby, bearing the plaque “No.1”. The old box was sited on a difficult and heavily used junction adjoining the Motel. Patrolman Mr. V. Tozer, based at the box for 21 years, will also be retiring.
